Kilken Platinum: Redefining the platinum industry
Kilken Platinum is a South African platinum group metal (PGM) treatment business that is majority-owned by the . Kilken Platinum is a partner in the Kilken Imbani Joint Venture (KIJV) with Imbani Minerals, which owns and operates a platinum tailings retreatment processing plant near Thabazimbi in the Limpopo province.
Situated adjacent to the world-class Amandelbult mine, this plant is also operated in association with Rustenburg Platinum Mines (RPM), a subsidiary of Valterra Platinum.
Utilising tried-and-tested modern flotation technology, the Kilken plant extracts high-quality, impurity-free products from live tailings, recovering valuable minerals such as platinum, palladium and rhodium from the waste produced by Amendelbult’s mining operations. By recycling this waste, the Kilken plant practices “green mining”, creating more sustainable by-products and reducing the amount of storage space needed for leftover tailings, with positive implications for the environment.
Kilken is operated separately from the ’s broader asset base as a standalone entity, recognising that it is managed by a joint committee collaborating with third-party shareholders, rather than falling directly under the Group’s control.

Every clinic and school is fully furnished, digitally enabled, and backed by a 16.6 -year maintenance plan, so frontline staff can focus on patients and learners instead of repairs, and investors can enjoy peace of mind that facilities remain fit-for-purpose.
With 150 units confirmed for roll-out from December 2025 in Botswana, and strong interest from other countries and corporates, a growing network of partnerships is gradually amplifying our reach. Additionally, we are currently establishing a new manufacturing hub in Gaborone, Botswana, that will soon serve the entire SADC region.

Handling approximately 25,000 tonnes of chrome ore concentrate every month, Africhrome SA is recognised for its reliability, consistent quality, and trusted partnerships, positioning it as a key player in the international chrome supply chain.
