Officially founded by Zunaid Moti in 1998, the Group began with a focus on mining and mineral beneficiation before branching into luxury property, retail, aviation, exotic vehicles, public infrastructure, and other sectors. From our base in Johannesburg, South Africa, we have grown into one of the country’s leading Black-owned investment firms, with a reputation for high standards and an emphasis on delivery and performance.

As Chief Executive Officer, Mikaeel Moti is steering the into its next phase of growth.
With expertise in finance and accounting, and a proven track record of delivering strong results, Mikaeel brings acumen and decisive leadership to every facet of the business.
His first start-up, Super M Auto Investments, a vehicle rental company, achieved a book value of R18 million with 80 major clients within the space of just a few years. Likewise, as a managing partner in East Rand Containers since 2018, he has helped shape the company into a multimillion-rand venture. This experience has further inspired one of the ’ s most ambitious new initiatives, African Hero, which forms a
key part of the Group’s expansion plans for the next decade.
Having spent nearly a decade working within the , including two years as Executive
Director, Mikaeel has an intimate knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the Group’s operations and strategic objectives. With his new ideas and insights, the company looks forward to many more achievements in the coming years.

1912 - 1941
Muhammad Moti
A traveller and pioneer from India.
During the mid-19th century, Muhammad Moti embarked on a voyage by ship to South Africa, establishing the family’s foothold at the southernmost point of the African continent. He served as a general trader, dealing in basic goods and necessities. Muhammad Moti became the first-generation patriarch to call South Africa home.

Zunaid Moti
A second-generation trader in Mokopane.
Aboo Baker Moti formalised and added structure to the family’s operation by building the family and growing the business. Aboo successfully built upon the vision of his father and demonstrated resilience in adapting to the new, unfamiliar home that South Africa had become.
A traveller who found success and fortune.
Abbas travelled extensively throughout Southeast Asia, continuing the legacy of the family in general trading by further building upon it. During this time, he made significant investments in Australia and India, while further improving upon the family’s wealth through strategic and critical relationships within the Southern African region.
A young prodigy.
Zunaid Moti began the process of formalising and establishing a base of operations on which to expand the family’s wealth. Moving from success to success, Zunaid founded many revolutionary business models, including the highly successful Futurefin, before settling the vision and core trajectory of the business in the mining and mineral beneficiation space.
In 1998, Zunaid officially launched what we now refer to as the of Companies. Zunaid diversified and expanded on the family’s general trading history by pushing the group into new directions, and exploring new and exciting markets including platinum group metals, lithium, and chromium. In addition, Zunaid established the family’s expansive property portfolio, which now spans the globe.

Supported by the operational expertise of an exceptional management team with a combined 198 years of business experience, the Group is working to expand its African footprint, build sustainable, commercially successful businesses, and create positive social impact.
